The Avelon Nano 3 miner (heater) was not able to mine at the high heat setting with the power adapter (and USB-C cable) that comes with it. The main reason for this is that the power adapter gets to hot (>70°C) and eventually shuts down due to the build in thermal protection (see picture below).
For this reason the manufacturer included a USB-C cable which limits the power that can be drawn from the power adapter (the cable has a build in cable ID chip) which means you're only able to mine at the low or medium heat setting with the original USB-C cable.
Now here's how you can mine at full capacity (4TH/s) with the original power adapter. First you need to buy a USB-c cable wich is rated for Power Distribution (PD) and at least 240W (see amzon links below). This will allow the Nano 3 to mine at the high heat setting. This causes the power adapter to get pretty hot (>70°C) and that's where this 3D-printable dual fan upgrade comes in. The 2 12V 92mm fans do a really great job in keeping the temperatures of the power adapter below 50°C which is a decrease of about 20°C versus the non cooled adapter. Even after running for hours/days on the high setting in a room of about 27°C the power adapter does not exceed the 50°C limit (see thermal image below, taken after a few hours of running on high mode).
I really hope this solves your problem of not being able to run your Avelon Nano 3 at full capacity and potentially missing out on that one block. Good luck!
Disclaimer: use the suggested modifications mentioned above at your own risk, if the fans were to shut down for some reason, your power adapter could still get very hot and overheat, break, catch fire, etc... (mine has been running fine for a few weeks now but there's still a chance this could happen and I have to mention this)
